Trigger Warning: Discussions on body image
This week Kaila talks with Vanessa Gorelkin, an Occupational Therapist whose specialties include mental health and mindfulness, about the struggle that can be accepting your body in general, but especially after having a baby. Gentle reminder: you grew and birthed an entire human being-- your body absolutely should feel and look different! There is no hard and fast rule that says our bodies are supposed to look the same forever, but even knowing that does not make it easier to love and accept the physical changes that our bodies go through during the course of our life. Vanessa talks with Kaila about using mindfulness and radical acceptance in order to process feelings, thoughts, and emotions towards that beautiful powerhouse of a body that built a baby.
