Show Notes

Mom groups. They are totally a life changing experience for parents, involving hilarious group texts, potluck lunches in the park, and instant BFFs. Right? Not always. Sure, parent groups are an amazing resource for community and parental bonding, but unfortunately you're not assigned a village as you shuffle out of the hospital and make your way home with a brand new family member. Instead, new parenting is often isolating, lonely, and hard, especially when you feel like you don't have a solid group you can count on to be there for you in times of (parental) need. This week's guest, Nicole, is trying to change that; Kaila talks with this mom group creator about the importance of having a village for yourself, your partner, and your child as well as the need to recognize and normalize getting the support you deserve.
